About Me
I live my faith through music
I love and live music to give emotion, love and joy to those who listen to it. For me, home is every place where I can bring smiles to souls. I grew up with my two brothers in a family where faith, education and love were the main values, in addition to perseverance, ambition and the courage to follow my aspirations.
Over time, I have been invited as a soloist to several cultural events, some of which were hosted by institutions such as the Pitești Philharmonic, the National Arena, or the Romanian Athenaeum.
Although I have closely explored fields such as philology, foreign languages, political and administrative studies, I have never given up on the desire to bring people together either through involvement in social projects or through carefully chosen artistic moments. After many attempts, I found the right path to fulfill my dream through Byzantine music, combining my passion for singing but also the goal of promoting care for the mind and soul through the continuity of cultivating Orthodox values.

International Events
From Vienna to Paris, from Jerusalem to Patras, I have had the joy of taking Byzantine and Romanian music to some of the most important stages in the world.
I performed on the stage of the Vienna Philharmonic, the most appreciated and coveted stage in Austria, the place from which the New Year’s concerts are broadcast annually. There, I and the Bucharest National Opera, together with Gheorghe Zamfir, performed for the first time in a performance entirely in Romanian, dedicated to the work of Ciprian Porumbescu.
Also in Vienna, I sang in the oldest cathedral of the city, the Cathedral of Saint Peter. These events were attended by Romanian diplomats and representatives of the host states, with the support of the Romanian embassies, the Romanian Cultural Institutes and the Department for Romanians Abroad.
I sang at the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles. Also in Paris, I gave recitals in the cathedral where Constantin Brâncuși used to go on Sundays, but also in their largest cathedral, Saint-Sulpice.
I also sang in Israel, at Easter, alongside the National Opera Orchestra and artists such as Marcel Pavel, Nico, Luminița Anghel, Andrei Tudor and Daniel Jinga, at the Tower of David, an event televised by TVR1 and TVR International.
Another soulful concert was the one in Greece, at the invitation of the University of Patras, alongside a Byzantine women’s choir. The event was broadcast on Greek national television, in front of an audience made up of Romanians and Greeks alike.
I was also close to Romanians in Turkey, Germany and Spain, where music became the bridge through which “home” felt closer, wherever people were.
The Voice of the Audience
After the music, there is silence. And then… the words of the people. Reactions, thanks, unexpected testimonies, emotions that reach back to me. I have collected them here: excerpts from the press, video reports, thoughts of the audience and those who feel the same way.
Maria Coman and the “Tronos” choir concert in Vienna
As part of the program carried out during the anniversary year 2024, in which it celebrates ten years of activity, the “Mihai Eminescu” Association, in collaboration with the Romanian Embassy in Austria and the Romanian Cultural Institute Vienna, organized on April 17 this year, at the Saint Peter’s Church in central Vienna, a concert performed by the remarkable soloist Maria Coman and part of the “Tronos” choir of the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest.

Byzantine Music Recital Maria Coman, Parish “St. Ap. Bartholomew” Frankfurt am Main
Our parish has invited, to our joy, Mrs. Maria Coman, a well-known singer of church music. A blessing for us to be able to listen to Mrs. Coman’s voice live.
